Thanks

Hey Keith, I just wanted to say thanks for all of the hard work on this wiki. It rocks! :) --Culix 07:29, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Email error

Hey Keith,

I wanted to change my password today. When I clicked on the 'email password' button on the login page I got this error message:

"Login error: Error sending mail: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/New_York' for '-4.0/DST' instead".

This doesn't sound serious (I still got the temporary password email and was able to change my password just fine), but I'm posting here in case you're interested. --Culix 04:57, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Delete garbage page?

Hey Keith this guy created this page full of garbage. Can we delete the page? I'll leave a warning on his talk page just to give him the benefit of the doubt. But that URL does not look like a link to brown university - it looks like some unicode trying to trick people into clicking on the URL. If you type in the URL left on the page you can find what looks like a legitimate project at Brown University, but the Injection user might be an unrelated spambot just trying to piggyback off Brown's project so it can trick people. *sigh* Have you had problems with lots of user accounts being created by bots before? --Culix 16:52, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for deleting the page! --Culix 09:41, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Should we allow .svg graphics?

Hey Keith - I was trying to upload a .svg file from wikipedia, but our wiki gave me the warning "'.svg' is not a permitted file type. Permitted file types are png, gif, jpg, jpeg.". Are .svgs disabled on purpose? Do we need a special plugin or something to allow them? What do you think about allowing the use of these? --Culix 17:46, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

SVG graphics are disabled because they are not supported by Internet Explorer without a plugin. Using the plugin requires enabling the <object> tag. I don't want to enable it for security reasons. Benjamin 18:38, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Ahh, I didn't know that. Thanks. If we ever need to create a FAQ, I'll note this there. --Culix 14:16, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Anyplace for Player Aids?

Hi Keith, I have built an exhaustive list of dice roll probabilities that I'd like to publish on the Wiki. However, I don't see anywhere that makes sense to put it. Perhaps a new category where people could publish such things could be added? --Aeaea 11:32, 30 May 2009

I put up the first set of probability tables here. It would be nice to somehow link them into the main page.

Wiki API

Hi Keith, first i wanted to say thanks for this great Wiki. I used it during some sessions via my iPhone. I thougt it would be cool to have a nativ iPhone app that useses the info from the wiki. So i played around with the iPhone SDK to build an app. For a better accessibility it would be nice to use the wiki api. Is it possible to access the api? I already used the "defualt" path (/w/api.php) but was not able no access it (maybe you deaktivated it). If I ever get the app running i will place it in the AppStore for free (i don't want to make any mony with it, it's for the community) --Rene 13:25, 23 June 2009

Identical copies of images

Hi Keith, there are some identical images of cards on the wiki (probably an error during upload or scanning), but i don't own the expansions so I can't reupload them. Just letting you know that the location encounter cards Easttown13.png and Easttown14.png are identical and other gates encounters 153.png and 155.png are identical too. If I ever find some more replicas I'll let you know. Thanks for this amazing wiki. --MatejSen 00:53, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

Lurker at the Threshold rules available

As Tibs mentioned on Benjamin's talk page a while ago, the Lurker at the Threshold rules are up at FFG's site. I see you and Benjamin are the users who last edited the front page, so I assume you still have access to do so.--RandomPrecision 05:17, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing it to my attention! Keith 14:22, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Need "Relationships" bullet under "Investigators" on the front page

Keith, it would be useful to have a bullet for "Relationships" cards (from the "Lurker At The Threshold" expansion) under "Investigators" on the front page. --Bill

Missing images

Any news about the missing images? It looks like a lot of the site's images aren't displaying, but I don't see edits reflecting that they were removed. I most frequently notice it looking up something about an old Ancient One, but I know Tibs replaced the expansion symbol images last month...

Were a lot of these covertly removed for legal reasons, or is it a data problem? --RandomPrecision 21:58, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

70+ pages to be deleted

There are 70+ pages in Category:Candidates for speedy deletion, effectively all spam. It'd be good if you or Benjamin would clear it out. Thanks for the wiki! EarnestineFergerson 02:17, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Custom content section

Hi, Keith--assuming you're the right person to talk to about this, but sorry if you're not!

I'm wondering if it might be possible for us to get a custom content section set up on the AH wiki: either a section to actually post images and all of completed AOs/Heralds/Investigators/etc., or failing that, at least something where we can set up links to the Photobucket/Picasa/Google Docs/etc. accounts people are posting their content to. It'd be great to have a central database of custom content.

If this isn't possible or you'd rather have this place be just for official content, I understand--just figured someone should ask, because this would be a great place for such a resource since lots of people already use it.

Thanks!

Edit: Sorry, just read how we were supposed to do signatures. ^_^ Adjusted.

New rules. Also new spams

Hey, you around? The rules for the Revised Dark Pharaoh and Miskatonic are hosted on the FFG site, and can be linked on the home page.

Also, the spam is pretty vicious - can we lock it down any more than what's currently going on? I think some people who would be contributing are questioning whether the wiki is still alive after checking the Special:RecentChanges.

Hi, I hope an admin is still here. The comprehensive FAQ should be added to the front page of the wiki. http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/ffg_content/Arkham_Horror/FAQs/Complete_Arkham_FAQ.pdf Also, is there any reason there isn't a section for fan creations?
